As the leading research university in Hungary, we are dedicated to develop wide-ranging study programs for Hungarian and international students, facilitating the international involvement and networking of teaching and research staff, and stimulating students efficiently to participate in mobility programs.

ELTE organizes the ELTE Budapest Summer University where one-week and two-week, in-person courses are offered fully in English to Hungarian and international applicants, in various study fields.


Courses in 2023:

  • Fighting Disinformation

  • From dragons to transformers and the Olympics: popular culture and world politics

  • Geoinformatics

  • Introduction to tools and methods of Artificial Intelligence

  • Urban imaginaries: reading cities from across the Globe

  • Highlights of Hungarian Literature, Cinema, and Art (2-week course)

  • Social Traumas Living with Us (2-week course)


ELTE Business Economics Summer University (ELTE BESU), a part of the ELTE Budapest Summer University, offers one-week courses for undergraduate and graduate students of business and economics between July 17 and 21, 2023. The courses include 25 hours of classroom teaching. Classes begin at 9:00 and finish at 13:15 each day, except for Monday, when we will start a little later to allow time for registration. Participants can apply for only one course per person.
